curious minds co-founder Jeff Perkins releases first book, You Have the Power: Choosing Courage in a Culture of Fear, co-written by Frances Moore Lappé.
You Have the Power is based in part on Jeff’s experience leading Fear Means Go workshops. Joining with
Lappé, the beloved author of the bestselling classic Diet for a Small Planet and Hope’s Edge,
they offer the radical notion that fear can actually be a precious resource which we can use to create the
lives we want and the world we want. The book will be released on May 10, 2004 by Tarcher/Penguin.

curious minds is a network of curious and creative people in the Boston area. We deeply believe that curiosity is an essential path for personal and social change. Beginning with our own unique questions and following them step-by-step can bring us to places we never would have imagined both for ourselves and for the world. It’s much harder. We believe this process depends on creating new communities that can support these new paths.
For the past four years we’ve been conducting workshops, holding monthly potlucks, organizing annual curiosity fairs, and meeting with people one-on-one in Boston. For the past two years our founder, Jeff Perkins, was working on a book about fear and curiosity called You Have the Power: Choosing Courage in a Culture of Fear (see above) which was released in May of 2004.
Now we’re meeting to talk about and explore our next steps. As we individually follow our own questions we’re finding out what we need for support from each other and how we can share what we’re learning with others.
We encourage you to think about how you can create a community that will support your creativity. Add yourself to our mailing list to stay connected to our work as it evolves and let us know about your efforts. We look forward to hearing from you.
